St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church began in the late 1940's as a result of a strong and compelling desire of a few Catholic families in the Chisago Lakes area to worship in a church of their faith. It has emerged from a small, faith-filled community to a large, vibrant and active parish today.
Please take the time to learn more about our community and we look forward to hearing from you!
Dear Friend in Christ,
Although we do not have an extremely long history compared to many parishes, we have been privileged to serve for over 60 years as the Roman Catholic presence in the Chisago Lakes area.
We take pride in our Catholic heritage while also honoring and working with the many other vibrant faith communities in this area. We seek to profess and live out our commitment to Jesus Christ through a knowledge of Him ever nurtured by the Scriptures, and a relationship with Him celebrated in our sacramental and prayer life centered especially around the Eucharist.
We seek to deepen our knowledge and zeal for Jesus through an ongoing religious education and formation program spanning the age spectrum from children to adults. Inspired by the Word of God and fed by Jesus in the Eucharist, we carry our faith to the world through a variety of parish outreach programs, especially conscious of Christ’s charge that his followers be mindful of the poor and the needy, as outlined in Catholic social teaching.
I invite you to look through our website and discover how God may be moving you to help carry out Christ’s mission by your personal involvement in our many parish ministry opportunities. Again, thank you for choosing St. Bridget’s. Let us know how we may help to meet your spiritual needs.
Fr. David Kohner, Pastor
