Choir, Cantors, Organists, Pianists and Other Instrumentalists.
Choir: The choir of St. Bridget of Sweden consists of
dedicated men and women, ages 14 years of age and up who are willing to
share their gift of song through the Music Ministry. The choir members are a
congenial group who work diligently to assist the assembly in song and make
beautiful music for the Lord. The Second Vatican Council, speaking of the
Choir, stated emphatically: “Choirs must diligently be promoted, “provided
that “the whole body of the faithful may be able to contribute that active
participation which is rightly theirs. At times the choir, with the
congregation of the faithful and as part of it, will assume the role of
leadership, while at other times it will retain its own distinctive
ministry.”

“It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High.”

Cantor: “…a trained and competent cantor can perform
an important ministry by leading the congregation
in common sacred song and responsorial singing.”

If you are experienced in this ministry or are interested in sharing your
vocal abilities with the community, but are unable to make a weekly 9 month
commitment by being a choir member, then cantoring may be an option for you.
Praise: This group of musicians and vocalists lead the assembly in song at one liturgy per month. If interested in sharing your musical talents with this group, contact the Director of Music.
Organists/Pianists and Other Musicians: We are always looking for talented musicians to assist with our music for worship. If you are experienced in playing a musical instrument and would like to share your gift and talent with our worshiping community, the Director of Music would be happy to meet with you.
