St. Bridget’s Relay for Life Team: Have you or your family been touched by cancer? St. Bridget’s is putting together a team to take part in the annual Chisago County Relay for Life, on July 25th at the Almelund Threshing grounds and is meant to bring together those who have been touched by cancer. At the Relay, we gather to celebrate survivors, remember those lost to cancer and to fight back against the disease. Members of our team help raise money and awareness to support the ongoing lifesaving mission to eliminate cancer as a major health issue. Call our team captain, Connie McKay, 257-5916 or team member, Carolyn Wishy at 257-3085 for information on the relay and to receive your informational packet.

THEY SERVED US.
NOW THEY NEED OUR HELP.
Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV), a non profit organization dedicated to helping Minnesota veterans. As many as 4,300 veterans of all wars are homeless in Minnesota or at risk of becoming homeless sometime during the year. These men and women, who honorably served their nation and defended our shared values, now struggle in their own country. They live on the street, suffering from physical or mental problems. Many live outdoors because their military training enables them to do so. They often delay seeking help-due to their deeply held sense of honor, duty and country, they believe that women and children must be served first. MACV is dedicated to honoring their service and returning these men and women to productive lives with hope, dignity, and self-determination…in the nation they once defended. Let’s help them out.
They are in need of:
New - men’s large and extra large t-shirts; New - men’s large and extra large underwear; New or slightly used - men’s large and extra large sweatshirts and sweatpants; Regular size shaving cream, shampoo, disposal razors, towels, wash cloths, and greeting cards.
This will be an ongoing collection for our American veterans.
You can bring your donations to the office OR put near the Food Pantry box in the Narthex. Please label the bags “For our MN Veterans”.
